What is your first name, and why were you named that?
Ariel- pronounced like the letters R-E-L. Originally my parents picked out Aubrey, but my dad met someone named Ariel and really liked it! The misconception is that I was named after the Little Mermaid… I was actually born before the movie came out!
If you weren’t a teacher, what would you be?
I would most likely be working in the Agriculture Industry, probably in sales.
What pets do you have?
2 dogs (Clem & Zena), 1 cat (Puma), about 40 chickens (Bailey Chicken, Precious Princess to name a few), and we raise Angus cattle down around Fisher.
What were your nicknames from high school? Why?
I picked up the name ‘Rel’ because people OFTEN mispronounce my name - mostly I get called Aerial. So I tell people to sound out the letters R-E-L, and a guy in high school slurred the letters together and I became ‘Rel’.
What was your first job?
Besides raising Angus Cattle, my first REAL job was cleaning sororities… for 10 years!
Great pay… but so GROSS!
What’s your favorite movie?
Empire Records (Great movie if you’ve never seen it), A Few Good Men, Rain Man.
