The Ridgeview School District has been working with Heartland Community Education to arrange community workshops at Ridgeview Schools. Thanks to a grant from the Ridgeview Education Foundation a group of High School Physical Education students were able to attend a scuba diving class in LeRoy at the LeRoy Replex. Richard "Scuba Dick" Smith taught students introductory skills in scuba diving.
This week the Eighth Grade English classes experienced the power of writing. While analyzing the social significance of The Hunger Games, the students reached out to author Suzanne Collins by email. While Collins was unavailable to interview, her publicist sent books, mockingjay pins, and other goodies as a thanks for reaching out.
