Important Notice

Ridgeview CUSD #19 recently identified a property tax billing error affecting district residents in McLean County. Due to a miscalculation in the county’s billing process, the district’s bond rate was entirely abated, which resulted in an inaccurately low overall tax rate on the current bills. The McLean County Clerk's Office was notified of the issue, and has begun to take steps to correct it.

It’s important to note our tax levy was filed properly and in a timely manner. This error originated at the county level and was not the result of any action or oversight by Ridgeview CUSD #19.

Ridgeview has consistently worked to maintain a steady, level tax rate over the past several years. This stability has been a key component of Ridgeview’s long-term financial planning, including preparations to issue bonds in the near future—again, without increasing the overall tax rate.

The complete abatement of our bond rate on this year’s tax bills undermines the planning we’ve done to ensure long-term fiscal responsibility without placing additional burden on taxpayers. We are actively engaged with county officials to seek clarification and correction, and to ensure taxpayers receive accurate billing in a timely manner.

The district is awaiting further information from the McLean County Clerk’s office and will continue to provide updates to families and community members as this issue develops.
