Update

August 9, 2022

Good Evening,

It’s been another busy week around the school. Not only do we have the water damage project, we are also gearing up for the start of school! As a reminder - the first day of school is Wednesday, August 17th. This will be a full day of school for all students (K-12). We have worked diligently over the last week and a half to get all high school classes relocated to the ground level of the building. This would not be possible without the patience and understanding of our staff. For most of our students and staff there will be minimal disruption to the daily routine. We are excited to welcome all students back next Wednesday!

Here are a few additional updates on the progression of our water damage project:

  • Power has been restored to the entire building

  • The fire alarm panel has been replaced and is operational

  • ServPro has started Phase II - the cleaning and removal of damaged property. This process could take 2-3 weeks.

As I mentioned last week, there will be changes occurring to our daily operations. As we start Phase II, there has been an increase in equipment needed. Currently there are two large trailers and a large dumpster located in the Elementary School Parking Lot. Storage units will arrive soon to store furniture, equipment, and materials that are being salvaged from classrooms. These large containers will also be placed in this parking lot. During this time, parking in the Elementary School Lot will be closed. This allows the contractors the ability to maneuver equipment, containers, and materials more easily, without obstruction of other vehicles.

Although there will be no parking in this lot, it will remain open for drop-off and pick-up purposes. We just ask that you continue to proceed cautiously through the lot. We know this may create parking concerns. However, all other lots will remain open during this project. Whenever possible, we will also open the elementary playground for parking.

I can’t say enough how much I appreciate everyone's help, patience, understanding, and flexibility these last few weeks. We would not have made the progress we have without everyone working together! Thank you for your continued support of Ridgeview Schools, and we look forward to seeing everyone back next week!
