Project Overview
Over the last several months, a tremendous amount of planning and "behind-the-scenes" activity has been underway to bring our vision to life. We are thrilled to announce that we are officially approaching the start of the first phase of this multi-stage project! This is the first of many updates we will share to keep you informed and involved as we transform our campus.
Our team has been working closely with ARCON and Associates (Architects) and Core Construction (Construction Management) to gather essential data—including surveying, soil testing, and site walk-throughs—to ensure our facility plan is second to none.
Funding for this project was completed in December through a bond issue. This bond was secured without increasing the tax rate from where it has historically been over the last several years. We continue to be committed to responsible, forward-thinking financial planning.
Construction Phases
To ensure efficiency and safety, the project is divided into three distinct phases:
Phase I: New Parking Lot (Spring/Summer 2026) A new parking lot will be constructed along Harrison Street, directly across from the elementary school entrance. This portion is currently out to bid, with work expected to begin in late spring and conclude over the summer.
Phase II: High School Addition (Late Summer 2026) This exciting expansion includes new classrooms, student meeting spaces, a modern auditorium, a fitness center (available for community use), and office spaces. Connected to the existing building, and located west of the existing high school gym, this phase is scheduled for bidding in early summer, with ground-breaking shortly thereafter.
Phase III: Renovation & Integration (Summer 2027) The final piece of the puzzle involves unifying our new and existing spaces. This includes vital system upgrades (HVAC, lighting, security enhancements, and accessibility upgrades) and aesthetic refreshes to create a seamless, secure, and modern learning environment.
Important Calendar Adjustments
Our goal is to have this project substantially completed for the start of the 2027-2028 school year. To maximize the critical Summer 2027 work window, we are implementing some common "construction adjustments" to our upcoming calendars:
2026-2027 School Year: We have adjusted certain breaks to "trade" days for an earlier end to the school year in May 2027. This provides contractors the necessary time to complete heavy renovation work. [View the 2026-2027 Calendar Here].
2027-2028 School Year: While not yet finalized, we anticipate a later start to the year to accommodate the final stages of construction, with adjustments to breaks to ensure we still end the year at a reasonable time.
Next Steps
A project of this magnitude is bound to create changes to our normal routines - traffic patterns, parking, and building access, just to name a few. We are committed to providing updates when these changes occur.
