Students in Mrs. McCoy’s Advanced English 1 class are learning how to decode Shakespeare’s language. As part of this process, students use the strategies they’ve learned to write their own Shakespearean “play” and act it out for the class.
Each month, students in Overbooked, the high school book club, submit suggestions for books and then vote on which to read. This month’s winner is Tress of the Emerald Sea! We can’t wait to get into this whimsical fairytale which was inspired by The Princess Bride.

Mrs. Schultz had Illinois State Police, Trooper Kokos, come and talk to her driver education classes. Trooper Kokos talked about many important things for young drivers to know, including; how to conduct yourself at a traffic stop, what to do if you get pulled over, school bus violations, distracted driving, and much more! Thank you ISP!
JH and High school student council is sponsoring a Halloween costume contest!!! Students grade 6 through 12 are encouraged to wear a costume to school on Thursday, October 31! Best dressed costumes will win a Casey's gift card! Please make sure your costume is school appropriate! No full face paint or masks. If you have a question about your costume, please see Mr. Burke.
The ISU clinical nursing students came into Mrs. Schultz's JH and HS classes today and presented on Marshall our emotional support animal here at Ridgeview. They talked about the role of ESA's and Marshall's role here at Ridgeview. Mrs. McCormick shared Marshall with the class and added insightful information!
In Ms. Meza's 7th grade ELA, students worked hard to create a comic book strip of a scene from Monsters Are Due on Maple Street! Here are some awesome out of this world comics that students volunteered to have posted up! 👽💫
The Ridgeview blankets are here and ready for pickup at Friday's football game (October 18)!!
To pick up the blankets you pre-ordered just find the Ridgeview After Prom table located in the bus lane at the football game. We will be set up starting around 6:30, and will have additional blankets for sale for $35! We will be selling rally towels and taking candle orders as well!
If you cannot make it to the football game we will make arrangements the the following week to get you your order.

Mrs. McCoy’s advanced junior English class made games as part of their end project for Lord of the Flies. Students did a great job capturing themes, plot points, and other elements of the book. They really enjoyed playing games each other’s games!
