Good Afternoon, This is an update to a message sent earlier this week. On Monday, November 1 and Wednesday, November 3, we need to adjust a few of our bus routes for the AM routes only. During the AM routes on these day, students riding Bus #24 (JC’s Bus), will be picked up by a different bus. Students will be picked up by Bus #23 (Dena’s Bus), Bus #22 (Marci’s Bus), or Bus #20 (Chuck’s Bus). Pick up times and number of riders may change for students on these routes. This change is similar to the route change we made previously at the end of September. Again, this is only the AM routes on Monday and Wednesday. The PM routes will be as normal. If you have any questions, please let us know. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Mr. Young

Mrs. Schultz had a few guest speakers in Health Education last week. ThinkFirst's Mission is to prevent brain, spinal cord and other traumatic injuries through education, research and advocacy. Traumatic Injury is a leading cause of death and disability among children, teens and adults. The most frequent causes are vehicle crashes, violence, falls and sports. Simple actions can greatly reduce our risk for injury, such as wearing a seat belt, driving safe, sober, and without distractions, wearing bike and sports helmets and other safety precautions. (www.thinkfirst.org) Our Program at OSF HealthCare Illinois Neurological Institute is offered for free to the communities around us through a grant through the Illinois Department of Transportation. We provide Interactive Presentations for all ages. Our Teen Program highlights a Voices of Injury Prevention Speaker (VIP) who shares their personal story about their experience with a traumatic brain/spinal cord injury. It is a complete joy to be a part of preventing potential lifelong injuries!

Last week AJ Collision Repair came to Mrs. Schultz's HS Driver Education classes and gave a presentation. They showed students how to jump a vehicle, check the air in the tires, check the oil, located items under the hood and much more. They were very knowledgeable and helpful to our students! Students even got to go home with their own jumper cables, tire pressure gauge, screw drivers and first aid kit to keep in their cars. Thank you AJ's Collision Repair.

Last week Trooper Polistina with the Illinois State Police came out to Ridgeview HS for two days, to talk to Mrs. Schultz's Driver Education classes about numerous things. She also brought the seatbelt convincer, drunk googles, and marijuana googles. We are very thankful for her time spent here at RHS with our students.
